Michael Joseph

Biography

Michael's practice areas include cases involving police misconduct, employment discrimination and criminal defense. Prior to joining Galbut, Walters & Associates, Michael worked for the Office of the Chief Counsel for the United States Department of Homeland Security where he served in various capacities including U.S. immigration policy formation. Michael is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Michael was born in Miami, Florida, and is a life-long Florida resident. Michael attended Florida International University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration; he attended St. Thomas University School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor. Michael was also a Legal Intern with the Put Something Back Program at St. Thomas University providing legal services to South Florida's indigent community.

Michael remains active in his community's cultural and economic development, and he is also currently the Vice-Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Small Business Advisory Board. Outside of the office, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and writing.
